Chalk It Up Birmingham!

Revive Birmingham provided huge chalkboards and chalk and I loved this mural.  Birmingham artist Sarah Miller created this Birmingham skyline.  Positive vibes for our Magic City!

Fast Forward...

Back in 2011, I was wandering around the Pepper Place Market and spotted this pretty girl with the bright sunny parasol and hat to match. Fast forward to the Magic City Art Connection the next year where we recognized each other and started a wonderful friendship.

Meet Laura Kate Whitney, fabulous mom to two adorable boys, community activist, blogger ( Magic City Made) and now working tirelessly for Avondale Elementary School and Revive Birmingham.

Fast forward to  Revive Birmingham's Woodlawn street party last fall where I snapped her again. Watch out for Laura Kate Whitney Birmingham, she's a mover and a shaker and we are so lucky to have her!

Readbox

I spotted this downtown during Revive Birmingham's event, but the Readbox is popping up everywhere Revive goes all over this town. Leave one, take one. I love this.

Yesterday REVIVE BIRMINGHAM was in the Woodlawn neighborhood. Great music and fun. Two shots for you.  Look carefully, you might see someone you know!

My friend Larry O. Gay a great B'ham photographer is smiling in the background.

Watching

During the Revive Birmingham street party, this gentlemen just seemed to be sitting back and enjoying the fun.  The chalk wall and piano were part of the Revive installation.  What a great idea.

Three Men In a Truck

Shindigs is one of Birmingham's most popular food trucks. They were doing a booming business Friday night on 3rd Avenue for Revive Birmingham and the lighting of the Lyric event.  I can't imagine how hard that must be to be turning out great food,  fast and furious in that hot, tight space.
