Birmingham is flush with ferns of all kinds. This time of year the fiddleheads are unfurling. I love it.

 Just as spring is starting to bust out all over Birmingham, the temps dropped to below freezing last night. Go figure.

The plants in Cathy's garden are so well loved and tended to they just spring up everywhere, including the cracks in her sidewalks and stairs!

This was taken last Friday when the temps was probably in the high 30's, but we found at least five varieties of ferns growing out of the bricks and rocks here at Sloss Furnaces.
