Ice Fountain

I spotted this gorgeous icy fountain yesterday on Highland Avenue. It was still frozen, although it was beginning to drip at the very bottom. My lucky day I think. Maybe winter isn't all that bad!

Mother Nature, Could You Make Up Your Mind? Part I

OK, this is the deal.  On Monday it was frightfully cold ( 26F)  by Birmingham standards.  I present the evidence.  This is my daughter's fountain.  Nice ice formations don't you think?? You will also recall that on  December 23rd, I featured manmade snow on this very blog!  I am sure most of you are thinking this is very typical winter weather, so what's the big deal?  See you tomorrow for Part II- the rest of the story
