Up Close

For the past several months, I've been learning to use my macro phone lens. It's tricky business but a lot of fun. It's been interesting to see what looks good under a macro lens and what doesn't. Certainly this rose in full bloom gave me a lot of practice.

Vacancy

As is often the case on this blog, you get served whatever I'm working on at the moment. Right now, I'm exploring a lot of macro/abstract possibilities. I went to a neighbor's to photograph her mother's vintage dresses the other day, and she had a bowl with an old wasp nest .... I got out my iPhone and macro lens. Not the prettiest photo but interesting I hope. Emily had an "active" nest hanging above her front door. I declined the offer.

Back Off, Lady!

This shot is dedicated to Nathalie at Avignon FR Daily Photo , Marley at Cheltenham Daily Photo , and our friend Abe Lincoln who blogs from Brookville, OH. They are superb macro photographers. They have  inspired me to get,  probably a little too close to this guy!  He had his beady little eyes right on me!
