Back Off, Lady!

This shot is dedicated to Nathalie at Avignon FR Daily Photo , Marley at Cheltenham Daily Photo , and our friend Abe Lincoln who blogs from Brookville, OH. They are superb macro photographers. They have  inspired me to get,  probably a little too close to this guy!  He had his beady little eyes right on me!

It's not his eyes you have to worry about V.

Amazing. I've photographed dozens of these guys and they are ALWAYS out of focus, even if everything around them is sharp as a tack. I had begun to assume they had some sort of stealth technology that blurred their images and concealed their identity, and then here's this one, sharp as a tack. I'll have to renew my efforts.

Hee! Very nice shot. I love this type of photo - but I've never been able to fully master it. Probably need an SLR to shot those moving bugs fast enough.

How'd you do that!

ah, I think he's got an eye on you, look out! Fabulous photo. Blasted rabbits ate our cone flowers

Yes Virginia, did you notice that too? They look at you right in the eyes...
Terrific pictures with the wings shadows.

Glad I am looking at this photo rather than taking it!

Actually, I dared to pick one up today on the same kind of flower. The same kind of bee. I put my fingers on a cone flower and made sure some of the pollen stars got stuck on my hand and used that as a kind of obstacle the bee had to cross to get more pollen. He just walked across. Pretty fast. Thanks for the accolades.

Abe,
Thanks for being such an inspiration to us all. Your creativity, humor and friendship means so much. I am so glad you have "mended" so well. I think you might just be a "tough old bird"! HA

V, you are so kind. Thank you. I've not had the best day today and that has made me smile.

Btw, super macro :)

Well, he obviously didn't bite you, so maybe he was just posing...Bees can bee like that!

Cloudia,
Are you referring to Mac computers? Well let me say YES YES YES,they are all that much better. Try refurbished ones on the Apple website. If you get one you will NEVER go back to the "dark PC world" ! ha

Have you been getting jiggy with the macro in my storm damaged net connection absence? The off centre composition terrific and the colours dazzling.
