Lava fields, Iceland
Yann Arthus-Bertrand
Today bloggers around the world are joining forces to address climate change in their own unique way. As a photographer I have chosen to highlight French photographer
Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Yann has taken his incredible photographs of the earth from above and made a non profit film...
HOME. Youtube says, "
Home is an ode to the planet's beauty and its delicate harmony." Shot in over 120 locations in 54 countries, the film has now been distributed to 87 countries. It is available FREE online and it's one everyone must see. Breathtaking images and a powerful message. Click
here to see the film. Click on the sidebar Widget for more information about Blog Action Day

I was not aware of this action!
Thks Virginia. Have you seen Paris seen by Yann Arthus Bertrand at the Musée Marmottan last summer?
Darn .. I didnt know there was a Blog Action today .. excellent post

For all of you who did not know about this I apologize. Our JM in Oeiras Portugal sent it to me through Facebook. I only decided to do it last night!
Thérèse,
Yes I actually visited that musée twice and watched the short film "Paris From Above" no less than 5-6 times! I have the book and his Earth From Above as well.
Te film "home" is fantastic. Thanks for sharing! ciao.
He has got to be one of my favourite photographers.
Great post.... didnt know about it either... hmmmpppphhh!
wow, thanks V!
Great choice, V. I thought you had taken up ballooning with that little six year old boy.
Paula,
Oh that I could ever ever come close to Yann's fabulous photography. What a pleasure it has been see his work. I'm reading his " Being a Photographer"
right now. Oh my goodness. What I wouldn't give to meet him. I'm giving a nod to him on my Paris blog tomorrow.
Miss you!
V
Daryl,
I'll admit the header looks like my fav coleus but it is oakleaf hydrangea. The leaves turn this marvelous red in the fall. I just love it.
I see some new faces on my comments today. Welcome to you all and I hope you come back and visit Birmingham often!
SUCH amazing images you bring us!
My family property here in Waikiki will be underwater long before 1 meter's rise in sea level.
Blub!!
Thanks for all you are doing, & Aloha Friend!
Comfort Spiral
What an amazing photo and so true. We have the same problem of the gletschers disappearing from the Swiss and Italian Alps, and all so quickly. I do not have a photo available to show this but you can take my word for it!
Glad you joined, V.! You have chosen a truly fantastic shot! Yann Bertrand is a real master shooting from above. I'm a big fan of his.
Increadible photo. Thank you for posting it where it can get lots of exposure.
So glad you participated, V.
