Winter Arbor

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens is lovely in any season.  There is something blooming most of the year, but I think the arbor in the Rose Garden is beautiful with just the sleeping vines and the patina on the trellis and columns in winter.

Seems to be a bit of winter vineworks running in Blogs this AM. Is the trellis stone or wood?

Classic southern style!
I did not plan the red building! I was focusing on the street stones and didn't even realize the red building in the distance. Ha!

Bird, the trellis is wood the columns are stone of some sort.

KM, The correct answer would have been, "Sure V, I shot it just for you!" :)

I like this. It's not quite solid, as if the stone and foliage might melt away into the air.

This business with the portal is a &^%#$% pain.

Love pergolas even when the vines are leafless.
