In the sculpture of th
e Four Spirits , by artist
Elizabeth MacQueen, Addie Mae Collins is kneeling on the bench barefoot, her Sunday shoes on the ground beside her. I was touched by the marigolds sprinkled around her shoes and on the bench, obviously picked from the flower bed just behind. A sweet remembrance.

Aloha
its a very very moving image, Virg, well captured
A touching detail.
I think it would be hard to stand there and not sob, Virginia. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I plan to visit this sculpture soon. Very moving. Thanks for posting.
Very powerful.
The marigolds make it a really striking photo.
And I have to say it's only been this year that I've heard about the other boys, killed seperately on the same day.
Very touching...
