Pedestrian


This odd building was a bank originally but now houses a branch of the Alabama Gas Company.  I'll admit I've never been a fan of the architecture but now that I see the world through my lens, I'm having second thoughts.

Sunday Church Series - 16th Street Baptist Church


The 16th Street Baptist Church such a part of Birmingham's history and the Civil Rights Movement.  This afternoon I spotted this man taking his young son to see this historic place.

Remembering


I had another post chosen for today, but I went back over my photos from Birmingham's Mercedes Marathon and found this.  I think it fitting for today as we mourn those lost and injured in Boston, not just the runners, but all those that planned it and made it happen, the volunteers , and those that cheered them on.

Zig-Zag


These stairs at Sloss Furnaces lead up to First Avenue North above.  I don't go very far up without a handrail, no matter how great the photo op!
