Dare We Dream of Spring?

The temps are inching towards the 70's this week. I know, I know, we could get one more freaky hard freeze or SNOW, but I have high hopes. These daffs at Shoppe just down the street, make me hopeful.

Leaf N Petal Garden Shop at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens always has such marvelous outside displays. I always snap their first before heading into the gardens.

Glass Act

Every October Sweet Peas Garden Shop in  Homewood invites area artists to share their work for an art show in the garden. I stopped by Saturday morning to say hello to some of my talented friends and found Chris Champion giving glass blowing demonstrations. The process is fascinating to watch.

I love to shop at Charlie Thigpen's Garden Gallery.  Of course they have great plants but they carry so many terrific gifts for the  home and garden. Cindy, Charlie's wife shook her head and said, "Charlie had to have that!"

Birmingham Rouge - Gardening Fever ?

I think everyone in Birmingham has it. Our weather has been just marvelous and people are out cleaning up their yards and planting up a storm.  I think this nice vignette from Charlie Thigpen's great  Garden Gallery at the Pepper Place was a good place to start.

For my Birmingham area readers I will be offering another series of photography classes. Designed for amateur photographers with any type digital/film camera who want to be more creative and learn to take better family and vacation photos.
