La Pyramide, Birmingham Style

Ahhh yes, a little taste of Paris right here in Birmingham! I was shooting up through the skylight at the Harbert Center recently and I thought it was reminiscent of le Pyramide du Louvre, a place I've photographed many times. It's that Euro Birmingham thing again.

If you'd like to see more of my photographs from le Musée du Louvre, jump over to Paris Through My Lens!

BANNER NEWS: This week the banner photo will change on a whim. I have a lot to share and Halloween is breathing down my neck. Today's header photo you saw last year ( dry those tears!!!), it is for my dear reader Judy from Souther California who told me recently it was her favorite photo, and it's going up tonight just for her. Stay tuned, more to come this week!

Awww V.....thanks so much! I am sure I am not the only one who loves seeing these wonderful, colorful pumpkins. Who but you dear friend could make a pile of punkies look like a work of art? Merci!

Is there no "copyright" on the Louvre one? :-) Well I believe Mr. Pei already copied...! :-)

I like the idea of Euro Birmingham! It is very remeniscent of Paris, maybe not so glamourous. Not that I'm casting aspersions!

Btw, my photos of the Pump Rooms today were inspired by you. As I was taking them I thought of you and what you might do with the same scene. Anyway, just you are a good inspiration :)

Marley,
Well I am very flattered. That was a wonderful photograph and one you should be very proud of.

You and me, V. We've got Paris on the brain. It gets in there and stays.

Virginia said...

Petrea,
Oh it is always there. I long to go back RIGHT NOW!

Hey Virginia, Hiker told me you, P and me were all on a local-Paris-connections vibe today ~ how cool is that! I love your Pyramide.

Ah ha! Going modernist on us! But Regions Bank in the background has so much less interesting art than votre musée préféré. Mixes of old and contemporary architecture can work well (the British Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago) but I've never gotten comfortable with the glass pyramid amid the Renaissance palaces. It must have been set down by space aliens. Which then means that I. M. Pei is a space alien. Well, he sorta looks like one. I an rambling - must put head on pillow.

Bob,
You know where mon coeur lies. Everything reminds me of it. What can I say, although I think you understand it all, n'est pas?
V

PS You like Phillip GLass and don't appreciate la Pyramide du Louvre?? Really??? :)

So similar, and you can visit here often when you need a Louvre fix.
