No. 13 and What Is It? Where Is It?

I was downtown on 20th Street last week and got a quick shot of the DART trolley ( or as I like to call it, Birmingham's version of a rapid transit system) just as it pulled off.

For those of you that visit my Paris Through My Lens photoblog, you are familiar with "What Is It, Where Is It?" Now it's time for my Birmingham readers to have some fun. Today I've featured a photo (below). Your job is to be the first one to guess what it is and where it is. The winner will be announced on Tuesday. You may leave your guess in the comment section. A fabulous prize will be awarded the winner. Let the games begin! Oh, and for my French readers, yes, you may play since you were disqualified on the Paris quizzes! :)

What is it? Where is it?

I was scratching my head trying to figure out which fountains in Paris had this kind of steps and then I reread your description--I see they're in Birmingham!

Clever idea; maybe I should do something once in a while like that here!

No idea but its a nice fountain, reminds me of the Houston entrance to RiverWalk there's a cascade similar to this

And I love water 'stopped' like that

Brilliant cropping for the top photo Virginia.

Now for the bottom photo I like the cropping too but obviously can't help with the location... I like the effect of water cascading down the steps though.

A brick wall?!

OK. How about a brick wall at the Pepper Place Market?

Ok. Ok. I've just clicked on the photo and I can see I was very wrong! What with it being water and all!

How about a waterfall at the Pepper Place Market?!

Ok. I've got no clue!

Jacob!
I'm laughing so hard. No, I was serious when I said it was our take on "rapid transit", and I also have that nice zoom now!

Tomorrow the winner will be announced. :)

Yes, lucky number 13, but it isn't named Desire.

Non-Birminghamians are clueless about the bottom picture. I can't even guess what it might be.

I'm printing shots of Mt. Everest tonight.

May I be naughty and say that it looks like sperm from a very large and active frog!

About the quiz, it's a fountain, perhaps in Linn Park? Oh, I really have no idea!
