Well the Pepper Place is indeed a great place to meet and greet.....even for canines! Apparently it is de riguer to drag the family pooch along, although I'm still not sure why! As I've said before, it can be a real "Sniff and Snarl". If I were going to be here all summer I'd do a mini series on Pepper Place Dogs. When I get home I might still give it try. I got a good start on Saturday's opening day. I'll have to admit that sometimes the dogs are more interesting than the owners! I laughed myself silly over these guys! See for yourself.

Ah-ha, dogs - my favorite subject. The problem is that when you introduce dogs on a leash, they don't behave normally. If a small dog, indeed any do, on a leash, is approached by another, it knows it can't get away and so it snarls to keep the other dogs away. Introduce dogs off lead and you are much less likely to have any problems with snarling.
Realise dogs have to be leashed but it does mean dogs can't behave as nature intended, all the signals get mixed up and it's fear that causes the snarls.
That's a cute first pic.
Sorry, too early in the morning here...I left a 'g' off dog so it's a 'do.'
Yeah! Doggies!
j'aime bien la première, un coup de foudre..
I like the first, fall in love ..
I love the first photo. just excellent. like a couple going to kiss. I also enjoyed your cat photos. Just purrfect!
So funny ;)
Agree with Jilly 100% about the on-leash thing. When your first photo loaded, I thought, "Oh, they're sniffing the wrong ends...." but then up came #2 photo!
Virginia, Great photos - the cute, romantic one - top and the true life, way it is one on the bottom! Love these dogs - and you thought I was just a cat person. How is Kittykins by the way? L.C.'s missing her pretty face.
Oh perleeease do a doggie series at some time. These are marvellous. Sorry I'm a dog loving nut and it's just not feasible for me to do here. Just started with humans never mind people.
Taking dogs anywhere is very civilized as far as I'm concerned. Wish our country was more like Europe in its acceptance of animals in public.
The first photos is so sweet ...
Beautiful shot, you found
the right time!
:-)
Lovely sniffing photos... and I agree about Jilly's comment.
I truly enjoyed your Eiffel tower collection - I'm sure it will expand again this time around.
The story of your packing panic was fun to read!
This is too cute! Maybe I will bring Gracie when we go to Pepper Place! She loves to meet people. She is an aspiring therapy dog.
Your photos remind me of an artist I have seen in some dog supply catalog...featuring labs....sniffing.... on a doormat that reads simply ...GREETINGS!
I always love a dog story or vignette!
Great shots...If we ever get up that away, I'll bring our Golden Retriever - she loves to sniff. Never snarls, though.
Nathalie,
I have progressed to piles, piles, and more piles. Nothing has found its way into a suitcase. Maybe today I'll face the music and see what happens.
FireLight,
Gracie will love the PP. You will too. The sunflowers and zinnias will be on sale in a few weeks I'd imagine. Great photo ops. I still have some from last year I'll post.
Judy,
I fear that Kittykins will miss her mistress while we're gone. She'll have to amuse herself by harrassing Willie and stalking Hannah Montana, the goldfish.
Jilly,
I knew you'd get a kick out of these guys. I would take those Golden Retriever's home in a minute. The "camouflage" dog in the front, will make another appearance one day.
I'd say that top photo is the tv side of doggy meet and greet.
Hee! THe group sniff shot is too funny, V.
Two great photos! Love the last one, my mind is working over time, trying to come up with something half clean I can say!
I think I'll agree with Group Sniff!
A snorgy
Your photographs are BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for visiting my blog...so glad I 'followed the trail' back here ( :
Oh Marley, let it rip. We can handle it!!
AH,
Snorgy!!!!!har You're a piece of work, girl!
Brattcat,
Welcome! Come back often.
Jacob,
Bring that Golden and I'll try and keep her.
The first photo is cute and I thought why sniff and not "nose to nose" for a caption and then I saw the second photo:) I guess for dogs a group sniff must be equivalent to our group hug.
Obviously, this how you say hello in dog. Very cute but also makes me grateful that humans don't have a good sense of smell. We got enough complications already.
snorgy! yes.
Ours would be having a blast there.
Such a funny post! They look so cute on the 1st shot!
Too funny, what a way for a greeting.
I love your work!
V, L.C. would love to have Kittykins come for a visit while you're gone! He'd make her feel right at home....
