It Rained Saturday

and I'm thankful a bit fell on my parched lawn. Not long after the stormed passed, I joined about 25 area photographers for the Worldwide Photo Walk 2010. It was hot + steamy, but I lasted for over an hour! I've photographed downtown Birmingham a many, many times, so I was a bit stumped to try and find something new and fresh. Our fearless leader Pete, suggested I go macro. Good idea Pete! I found these raindrops perched on some huge canna leaves in a potted planter on 20th Street. Did any of you do a Photo Walk in your city Saturday? I loved wandering downtown with new photo friends!

I participated though I didn't post a shot on Flicker. Did you? This one is so refreshing.

Virginia, you're invincible! Walking around anywhere after rain in this heat is a reason for praise.

I drove down to Pepper Place Saturday, but it was so hot and crowded I didn't even get out of the car. Instead I drove around town looking for photo ops. When I reviewed my pictures at home I was disappointed. There was only one or two that I liked. So much for that. I need some new inspiration. I'm glad you found yours.

How did you do that? I'm in awe.

(Your heat wave is still on? It's so cold out here this morning, I'm wearing a sweatshirt. Crazy.)

Steviewren, I think INSANE is a better adjective. I'd love for you to go out shooting with me. Email me.

Hiker,
Uhhh, we live in a constant state of Heat Wave here in Bama. It doesn't cool off till November.

Virginia, I've no doubt that you could look at a plain piece of paper and find about four hundred ways to photograph it. This is gorgeous.

Love it. Just what we're looking at is a little ambiguous but when you get down to the size where droplets hold themselves in little spheres, you've crossed a magical border.

Thank you all. WE are so grateful for rain here. It's been a very long and hot summer.
