I think I love ya. Well I know I do. Queen Anne's Lace is one of my most favorite Alabama wildflowers. I've tried to grow it in my yard, but it really loves to just spring up along the roadsides of Alabama in reckless abandon. I'm so glad it does!
Just love this! Have always adored this wild plant - love the way it holds itself and seeds near other plants. I try to encourage it in my garden but it has a mind of its own - guess that's the 'queenly' part!
I just made a lovely detour to find out why the plant is called Queen Anne's Lace. Many stories, all entertaining. I particularly like the one that suggests when Queen Anne came from Denmark to wed the English king, she dared the ladies in her court to create lace as fine as the pattern found in the flower. Beautiful shot, V.
Me too ... love the feeling of fireworks when I look at them ... one dark night very late go see if a clump of wild ones, dirt and roots) will follow you home and you can plunk them into your yard ... but you didnt get this idea from me, ok?
I've found some of the nicest flowers grow wild, although I didn't know these beautiful flowers grew wild in Alabama. Or anywhere else, for that matter!

So delicate. And like the story above.
Poppies behave similarly for me out here. They grow like crazy in sidewalk cracks and abandoned fields, but wouldn't dream of coming up in my yard.
Yep and maidenhair fern grows all over the woods here and I struggle with it as well.

I love them also. I have heard that you have to sow the seed, they won't grow if you try to transplant.
