In October,
Neil Printz, editor of the Andy Warhol catalogue raisonné spoke at the Birmingham Museum of Art. "Printz presented selections of Warhol's 40 year love-affair with the human face." On exhibit in the Contemporary Gallery were Warhol portraits of Birmingham art philanthropists Charles and Caroline Ireland (1979). It was exciting for me to be able to see and photograph these along with the series of photographs made by the artist for the portraits. The lecture and exhibit were just one facet of the Birmingham Museum of Art's celebration of "
The Year of Photography"

So the words "catalogue raisonné" are also used in English? That's a discovery to me.
Here's an exhibit I would have loved to see.
Our queen, Sonja, who is very interested in art was also one of his models!
I would have loved to have been to the Museum and seen and heard about Warhol`s 40 year love-affair with the human face.
What a cool exhibit. We don't get such neat stuff in Jackson!!! :)
We had a wonderful Andy Warhol exhibit here in little Brattleboro. What else is Birmingham doing to celebrate photography? I think they ought to throw a party just for you during this year.
Warhol is always great!
It sounds like the exhibit of the Year too!
There's a Warhol exhibit at the Huntington right now.
I am sitting here in my office looking directly at a Warhol portrait of my boss's grandfather .. we often say that: 'painting' is worth more than (fill in the blank) ...
Now that's fantastic! I've seen several soups and others but only one face so far: Judy Garland. Would love to go there.
Hiker,
Could I maybe catch that if I hurry?
