Noel en Grand - THEME DAY Circles/Spheres

Noel en Grand!

Today is Theme Day around the world as City Daily Photo Bloggers interpret  Circles/Spheres. As luck would have it, I have this very colorful entry this month from my recent trip to Paris.  Galeries Lafayette was nice enough to deck their gorgeous store out for Christmas in time for our visit!  Noel en Grand  indeed!  Oh the outside windows are fabulous. For my Birmingham viewers, reminiscent of the wonderful animated windows Loveman's had in years gone by.  I was as enthralled as the children.  Once inside the famous dome of the store was even more exquisite  festooned with gigantic red and gold balls and Christmas trees.  As a compliment to today's post, I am featuring more of my photos from Galeries Lafayette on my new blog, "Paris Through My Lens".  Hope you will click over and see them as well.

Hundreds of City Daily Photo bloggers are participating in December's Theme Day. Please visit the link below to see their original interpretations.

Isn't that exquisite. I guess I've never been in Galeries Lafayette, I think I'd have remembered that dome.

Funnily enough, I'm not having any problem visualising you laying on flat on the floor to get this shot V.

la perspective est magnifique, on se croirait dans un film de SF.
perspective is splendid, they would imagine in a film of SF.

The angle, the colors, the forms and a sort of mystery, I like all in this photo!
Etienne Daho who sings "Mon manège à moi" is famous in France...

Wayne cheeky but funny! There is a Galeries Lafayette in Nice. I lurrrrve the shiny sparkly balls set in the domed ceiling. Circles within circles and not a vicious one in sight. Superbly done. I

It looks like the solar system (but more christmassy!) This is perfect for theme day. And your song choice is one of my favourites. I love all these types of christmas songs - Frank, Bing, Dean. I think my favourite is old blue eyes singing 'I'll be home for Christmas' Its so touching. Makes my chin have a little wobble. Anyway...Yay for Christmas!!

I couldn't figure out exactly what this was when I saw it on the portal - made me love it even more because my imagination got a workout before I read the answer.

At first I thought I was looking at planets, then again there's whole worlds in the right Christmas ornament. The dome is just exquisite. I hope your neck has recovered. Happy Theme Day!

Wayne,
Didn't have to lay out in the midst of the Parisian shoppers to get this one amazingly enough. It was a feast for the eyes for sure. I think I took 10 different shots.

I haven't seen it on the portal. I guess you are right Knox, puzzling. It reminds me of a kaleidoscope!

Marley, will try and fill your Christmas song wishes if I can. I love Amy Grant and have a gorgeous one of hers just waiting!

I am not sure my photos can give the sense of the enormity of those fabulous silk(?) balls. Amazing.

We're being bombed with balls, sucked into a vortex and taken to le monde Francais (sorry no French diacritics on my keyboard. Oui, just roll me down Boulevard Haussmann.

Thanks for your comment today. The images wasn't much work at all - low-intermediate Photoshop. Now that I'm back home I have to check out all the stuf you sent me.

Wonderful photo! I also chose something from my China trip for today's theme. But I think I'll get back to Jackson for the rest of the week.
