I took this early in the day yesterday when I still had visions of flying home in the near future. Yes, if you have to spend some days in an airport, Charles de Gaaulle is the place to be. The architecture is beautiful, there are fabulous ritzy shope to prowl through, comfortable chairs etc. The bottom line is I didn't get on any of the four flights out. Tomorrow I 'm taking a break since the numbers don't look favorable. I'll enjoy Paris for a day and then start all over again on Friday.

Now that the roof has been secured after it caved in, I have to admit that it's beautiful and photogenic! Have a safe trip!
Nice photo shame about the traveling home part! Hope you get back soon, but an extra day or so in paris is no bad thing :)
I've travelled a few times on the 'space available' condition and I know how you must have felt today! :-) At least you have several flights a day, not like me in Antigua where there were 3... per week! I didn't board on the 1st and then came the hurricane! Lol!
Lose your passport, fake insanity. Just stay. Even the airport is a thing of beauty.
ugh - standby is always so horrible - hope you get a flight soon
I don't remember this. I do remember de Gaulle as being very hectic, crowded and confusing...
I still enjoyed it, though...
CDG didn't look like that the last time I was through there. That's a very dramatic architectural shot V.
Here's hoping they can find you a seat on Friday.
Enjoy Pareee;
then Bon Voyage!
Homeward Bound...

Smart girl to take a day off and have another adventure.
Bummer you weren't able to get on a flight and have to spend more time in Paris. How did you manage that??! Enjoy your extra day and have an easy and safe flight home as soon as it's really time for you to leave Paris.
avec les ombres, en effet il est tres beau, mais je l'aime pas trop, trop de couloirs, les bagages qui mettent 2 heures pour arriver....tu en as fait un superbe endroit
Thanks guys, and B.I wouldn't have had to fake insanity yesterday. It was for real!HA
Jacob, Funny you say that because I have always found it to be rather calm. The area I lived in yesterday was really very nice. Lots of nice places to sit and places so spend big Euros to shop. I did experience another terminal when I had to fetch my luggage from the first trip and it was wild!
It's a really nice way to see CDG, I should take a better look next time... but the thing is that either it's rush rush rush or slow slow slow and I did not experiment yet with the slow one (yet.)
It's only nice if you're in that new terminal. Believe me, I've been stuck in the old ones and they are NOT nice at all. Dirty and disgusting!
Beautiful shot!!! Being in this airport area would be delightful...at least for the first few hours!!!
Oh Virginia - I flew standby for years when my Dad worked for TWA. Now you can add that to your list of "lifetime esperiences". Hope you get the first flight Friday and enjoy your Thursday with lots more to share with us. Be safe - wherever!
