This building sits across the
railroad tracks from
Sloss Furnaces. I have no idea what it was used for in the past. It looks abandoned, yet I thought the afternoon sun really showed it off!
If any of my Birmingham readers can share some information, please leave a comment!

Gorgeous light! You're absolutely right! There's a lot of character in that building and I'll bet a lot of stories as well.
la lumière est magnifique, cela réchauffe cet immeuble historique
You must have one heck of a telephoto lens to get this one from the air on your way to Paris...or from Paris...where are you now???
Love the shots of this building, V. I also like that you included the down pipe in the second one. I remember a time when you would have hesitated.
A beautiful palette, an array of texture. These are quite successful, V. Hope you're having fun in Paris.
That place has an unknown history and lots of character! You captured the character well!
Bon weekend!
I love those old buildings. Nice shots!!
What pretty lighting! Old things have such a wonderful charm!
The lighting is beautiful!
Great job.
Lovely old place, or maybe that's mainly the way you've photographed it. I would, however, have found a way inside.
Whatever it is, its been cared for/looked after .. no trash, no graffiti
Adore that second photo. Fabulous building.
Thanks and I am in paris and need to head to bed. We arrived at 9 this morning and had a FULL day of walking and eating and sipping. Peter joined us and we were a frozen foursome but had a ball.
Bonsoir!
V
