PORTRAITS FROM MY HEART III - Le Petit Prince

Move over William and Harry, there's a new prince on the block.  Our Davis is the only boy in our family of four princesses.  He might look like a cherub, but my little buddy loves his scooter, Big Wheel, cars, trucks  and pirate swords.  As the song goes, "Some day your prince will come."   Mine finally did,  and his dimples melt his Mumsie's heart on a daily basis.

I jumped on my feet as if I had been struck by lightning. I rubbed my eyes. I watched. And I saw a little man quite extraordinary ... "

a superb portrait, all the charm of childhood.

I too have one of these, aren't they just amazing...
saw a t-shirt at the airport with the words:
"If I'd known grandkids would be such fun I'd have had them first!"

I'm assuming that handsome young man is your grandchild. Aren't they wonderful...either prince or princess? Great shot; love the angle and close-up which gives it an added dimension.

He's certainly got the princely look, only more handsome!

The prince was delighted to see his photo on the computer! So was mommy, he is truly the most endearing child which is useful when you are competing with four princesses (one is mine, the other three are my sisters). We love the Petit Prince book, it is a classic.

Thank you Mumsie!

This is the best of the portraits you have posted on the blog so far. The expression is charming. The tilt of the head gives it a little zip. The light is gentle and flattering. I really like the close crop because it emphasizes his eyes. Very good work.

What a little charmer. I certainly understand as I have two big princes at my house. Thanks for sharing that divine face with the world. ALL THE BEST!!

Having a little boy in the family has been such a switch for us. I have had to learn all about trucks and construction equipment, not to mention Batman and Transformers. And may I share that sometimes the photographs we catch on the fly are often the best. He was in his mother's arms and I snapped off about 5 or 6 shots. They were much better than the ones when I am trying to get him to sit still and smile for me!

Oh, he's a handsome young man! Perfect portrait. But I sense he is going places, busy fellow, so much to do.

I can see how this charmer melts your heart daily. You've really captured him so well here! Love the touch of sun in his hair. Take lots of photos now, as he might soon reach the point where he doesn't want his photo taken (like my sister's 4 year old).

Cette série de portraits de famille est un trésor.

Thanks for the details about the shooting session. It's always interesting to know how it's done.

I LOVED your Botero chocolate lady yesterday. Your beautiful photograph really does it justice.
Thanks also for sharing the story about how you approached it with your young students.
