100 Strangers Challenge - The Cutie Patooties!

Stranger # 89

Well I just sat myself on the steps at the Pepper Place Market last Saturday with my friend Bill and watched the people and the dogs parade by us. These two little strangers just practically plopped in my lap. The "Ice Cream Girl" and her family sat down with us. She wanted to "pose" for me, but for once , I waited. Eventually the ice cream won out, and she had to have an unposed LICK! The little curly head below, walked right up, gave me a very serious stare and said, "Will you take my picture?" Well you bet sweetheart. I snapped and snapped and she continued to stare. I knew the shadows were too dark so I waited, eventually she glanced away and I got this shot. I'm almost at the end of the 100 Stranger Challenge. I'm thinking this is way too much fun. I' m not done.

They're both cuties! And I'm sure there's no penalty for going over 100 strangers!

Cuties! I am thinking of joining the 100 strangers challenge. I am so terribly shy, it would force me to interact more with my community. I may start with children, they seem to love having their pics taken :)

The 100 Strangers originated on FLickr and you can do a search there for all the 'rules' etc. I couldn't add that to my plate so I just did an unofficial one. Talking to strangers is not that difficult for me but I will say that it has pushed me even farther out of my"box". The best part is that you meet some incredibly wonderful people along the way. My French Strangers idea made my trip to France even more fun. I encourage you two to give it a try. My focus now has to be on composing my photos better and taking my time. I still want to rush the photo. Kim at Seattle Daily Photo has discussed this on her blog recently. Bob Crowe at Saint Louis DP has also done a masterful job with stranger portraiture. Email me if I can help in any way.

nd the children! You do it better than anyone. Your patience really paid off.

I have to apologize for irregular comments. These days are frantic, as I try to clear all of my work before we leave on our big trip Thursday.

I think I would like Pepper Place Market, such a hive of activity and just the cutest shoppers.

The island is to realted to each other to have many strangers. I didn't say we don't have strange people though.
