Downtown

The old John Hand Bank Building is one of may favorites. I've posted other photos here. Today, in keeping with the shadows theme, it makes another appearance with the late aftenoon sun casting a nice long shadow down 1st Avenue North. I think the black and white gives it a timeless feel. I almost expect to see some vintage Packard parked there on the street.

Tune du Jour is "Downtown" of course!

It is a handsome building.

The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go
Downtown where all the lights are bright,
Downtown, waiting for you tonight,
Downtown, you're gonna be alright now

V, this has been a favorite of mine too, for many years. I remember that the wind was always really gusting around the corner! Great building, great shadows!

And I expect to see men in business suits with hats on! The black and white is perfect for this shadow shot.

I like the black and white. It makes the buildings look almost european and I agree with "D".. as to the hats and business suits.

Love this shot but got such a chuckle out of the Acme dental shot with the light behind it. What we CDP people will do for a good shot and how this CDP business is with us 24/7.

Greensboro DP, YOu are absolutely right. We'll stop at nothing! BTW, I am unable to click on your link and get to your blog. Sorry! BTW, I'm meeting our very own Eric Tennin tonight for a drink here in Paris. I am looking forward to meeting him in person.
