Keeping Watch

Saturday, our first stop for snow photographs was the playground at Triangle Park in Forest Park. It was deserted except for this one little guy perched on the railing keeping watch.

I'm joining Aileni's Monochrome Weekly group again this week. Click HERE to see the other participants!!!

The swings seemed to be waiting as well

Look, Ma, no eyes! Or nose, or....but a good start!

Would you believe I have to type 'sking' as my word verification, which is almost like 'skiing'?!

My goodness, snow already! Well I like this chap - that second photo is rather touching somehow. Both so effective. Wrap up warm!

Newborn winter caught quite effectively in both of these b&ws.

Temperatures are still very mild in Avignon, we aren't going to get snowmen for a while still, although they're announcing much colder temperatures for the weekend.

I love this little guy. He looks tiny - less than a foot tall, unless I'm mistaken? Great photos anyway.

Virginia, sorry I no longer have the time to visit and comment daily but rest assured that whenever I visit I do go back and explore your previous posts.

I fell in love with Sally Graves' work, thank you so much for the link to the gallery, it's a real feast for the eyes.

And I loved the foot and hand reindeer tee-shirts, what a clever idea! I can imagine how much you would have enjoyed being there, camera clicking away.

Your snow and star pictures were lovely and I loved the horse in the window shot.

Fond thoughts,
Nathalie

From time to time I am envious of other peoples' weather at home... but not for long... lol
The best part is being able to visit the blogs any time and enjoy the snow.

We got it too! Not enough to make a little man, but it was snowing and there's snow on my mountain.

Rain, rain, rain. Good to see that there are snowmen somewhere! It's a wonderful monochrome shot, I really like the composition here.

The crusting on the swing reminds me of margheritas!

I like 'em. Snow is tough and you nailed it. Nice theme.

Great snowy photos. Perfect for monochrome.

I don't think that little guy could see or hear you...but if you gave him a hug, he'd probably melt in your arms!

Freakish. We're a bunch further north and ain't got no snow at all. I think climate change skeptics are loony and dangerous. It's all sort of like buying life insurance. You don't expect to croak any time soon but you damn well better cover your family if you guess wrong.

Thank you all for your comments today. I've been out of pocket having a little foot surgery that hopefully will make it easier for me to trek from one end of Paris to another! We've had an exciting evening what with a mayoral race and tornado warnings. It looks like my candidate Patrick Cooper, will be in yet another runoff but I have faith!!! Hopefully the tornado will pass over so I won't have to limp to the basement tonight!!

Why the blank stare, Snow Ball? I do like the snow-flocked swings and I missed you for MM, I guess you came in later.

Oo! Oo!

Monday, the Bay Area saw its surrounding hills frosted by snow - a rare occurrence here.
