Cup of Java at O'Henry's

The Table/Chair Series is alive and well!!!

O'Henry's Coffee Shop in downtown Homewood is where my friend Doug and I like to meet for a morning chat from time to time. He's a photographer ( you met him here as my sub in June) so he wasn't a bit embarrassed when I grabbed my camera and started taking some shots in the middle of our conversation!

GOOD NEWS !!
My luggage has turned up in Nashville be home at noon today. That's a very good thing.

j'aime beaucoup la profondeur de champs de cette photo.
I like very much the depth of fields of this photograph.

I do the same as Olivier, but you also manage to get
"feelings/ atmosphere " in to so many of your photographs. Actually, you should start to collect your photos of chairs..... They are very nice!
Good morning from Norway.

Good to know other photographers so they aren't offended by such things!

Gunn,
Thanks for visiting my blog and your nice comments. Actually this is one of a long list of tables and chairs that I've posted. I think you cand do a search at the top and look for the others int he series. I would love to visit Norway. I hear it is a beautiful country.

I love the photo and the cafe seems to be a place I'd like to have my morning coffee. That's what I'm doing now but it's here in front of the computer.. not quite the same atmosphere.

Those chairs look very familiar to me! But I've never been to O'Henry's...

Isn't if funny how photography is always in the back of our minds and we're always looking at things from that perspective...and I've done exactly the same thing: "Oops! Hold that thought. I'll be right back" Click, click!

Glad your luggage turned up. What a pain that is!

welcome home little suitcases....

I haven't had O'Henry's in a while but they do make a mean cup (in the very best of ways)

I love this photo. So simple!

Whenever we fly through CDG to get to Berlin they lose our luggage. I'm glad yours is finding its way home!

Char,
We'll have to rendezvous there sometime and then adjourn to Continental Bakery for a pain au chocolat, oui?

Jacob,
I'm hopeless. I've decided the only people I want to sightsee with are fellow photobloggers. Everyone else thinks you are a pain cause you're always stopping to get a good shot.

Halcyon,
If I could pack lighter, I'd do nothing but carryon when I travel again. This experience might have convinced me to do that.

You're not hopeless! It's just that other people don't understand the commitment to photography...they're the hopeless ones!

Yay for more in the table and chair series! I love how the paint is worn from the bentwood chair and can see where some folks have put their thumbs through the caning. We had chairs like this when we were first married, and I had forgotten about them. I think someone my husband was remodeling the kitchen for gave them to us, and I stripped them and sanded them down and stained them. Good for you to have a friend who doesn't mind you getting a shot in when you see it!

Hey, I heard your mayor interviewed on Canadian Broadcasting Company's "
As It Happens" radio program last night. What a neat guy!

Apparently, your luggage wasn't done touring just yet. I've taken a number of table and chair series. But most of mine have umbrellas. I hope that is OK.

Kim,
If our mayor did anything SANE you can knock me over with a feather. I'm serious. Let me know more.

Rob,
More chairs! Come on and let us see them . With or without tables or umbrellas.........what the heck!

Love these - the cracked paint, the velour like seat covers - really add to the charm. Nice place to hang with a friend.

I promise to include a French tables and chairs image soon. I'm finally there next week. Ramsey ones just wouldn't suffice. Love the threadbare look, shows a lot of bums have enjoyed this place.
