Rest in Peace , Dear Willie

The hardest part about having a pet is having to say goodbye when they are ready, but you're not. I lost my sweet granddog Willie on Monday. He was much loved by our family and especially his soulmate, Ivy and Kittykins, who secretly loved him but wouldn't admit it. From the day he joined our family, he was the sweetest and gentlest dog you could ever love. Man's best friend indeed.

You can tell from the photo what a sweet disposition Willie had. I'm glad he brought so much joy to you and your family. So hard to say goodbye to such a friend.

Willie, you've gone to The Bridge but you're still in our hearts. Smoochies from all of us to you and your mumsie. She'll pass them on from there.

These little dogs (Carlin, in French) are really nice, I don't know what happened but I can imagine how sad you must be, you and the kids... I lost two dogs when I was a child, so I know it's hard.
Your Parisian shots go on to make me happy every morning.

It's always sad to lose a loved one, Virg. When it happens it definitely feels like something has left your life.

But, remember God created him, and he's now in God's care.

Now, go do something really good for yourself today.

Sorry about Willie's loss. Pets are such a part of today's families, and he looks like such a dear one.

In some respects, their loss is harder to take than family members. Such wonderful memories you must have of him.

Oh, Virginia, I am so sorry for your family's loss. I have lost many pets over the years and it is so difficult. They just steal pieces of your heart and it hurts so when they are gone.

Oh I am sorry Virginia. The hardest is that you expect seeing them behind each door when you come home...and it hurts every single time.

My furry family and I send you our love and sympathy. I've lost my fair share of furry creatures...most after a long life, which is small comfort when you lose a piece of your heart.

I'm sorry. You've had good times together, that's the most important.

Awww Virginia. So sorry to hear of your loss. Our pets make us more human, they bring us so much grace and life and love. Funny, my mom used to call me KennyKins when I was a child. Be nice to yourself.

That sweet face says it all. I'm sure you will all treasure the memories of so many years of his good companionship as you think of him and miss his warm presence. You made a lovely portrait of Mr. Willie of the soulful eyes. I'm sorry your little friend is gone from you all.

That's simply touching. The portrait is as expressive as your people shots.

Read your comment on Snapper's blog. Looking forward to what you get with the new lens. You gotta pick up all this techie stuff sooner or later.

Oh, Virginia, so sorry sorry. Bibi sends her condolences. I lost my little Daisy two years ago, when she was 15 1/2. No matter that that was a ripe old age for a dog, I could hardly bear to see her go and miss her.

You know I just can't bear to think about this. Woman's best friend, too.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry. As you can see Virginia, I'm just catching up with your wonderful photos and was stopped short with this one of Willie. People who love pugs love them with a passion - you either love 'em or don't - and obviously you and your family did and I do too. Willie looks a fine fellow and obviously had a wonderful life with you and your family. And he's now happily chewing a bone somewhere in Paradise.

Virginia said...

Oh Jilly,
I know you understand! He was our fat, easy going, sweet fellow and we really miss him. Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate all of the loving sentiments each an every one of you have left for us.
