Free Ride

As I have shared with you, the Pepper Place Market each Saturday is not only a great place to shop, but it's a gathering place for dogs of all sizes  who drag their owners along with them.  The last time I went, the usually congenial canine crowd got a little testy.  It was a real "Sniff and Snarl"!  This cute little fellow stays above the fray by hitching a ride each week.  Not a bad idea.

Tune du Jour is a real toe tapper:  "Go Where You Wanna Go" by The Mamas & The Papas.
( My secret dreams of playing the tambourine with this fabulous group were never realized.  Sigh !)

and an uncanny resemblence to Toto. ;) You have to love his happy exuberence.

"Sniff and snarl" I must remember that. I can hear that dog from here. I too would be ecstatic to be adored by such a sweetie. I do hope he can indeed go where he wants to go. Just a wondeful song for me on this dreary grey afternoon.

It's a real shame The Mamas and the Papas didn't tap you (pun intended of course) for the tamborine lead. If they had, who knows how far they might have gone.

A great snapshot, V. The "free ride" tells all the story about this dog and the owner. ;)

Steve, I think I could have given Mama Cass a run for her money! I even bought a tambourine in college. All they had to do was ask!

For all my French friends, you will be glad to know that I just signed up for my French I class that starts in Sept. and bought my textbook ! Maybe I will be leaving comments en francais in the forseeable future.

I had the same thought as Dusty -- that dog looks like Toto!

(Virginia, when I was a little girl I used to twirl around singing California Dreaming...)

Congrats on taking the French class! Bon chance!

That's really a cute shot. Our farmers market has lots of dogs too - I've posted photos of some of the regulars.
Have fun with the French class. I learned a lot of phrases from our taxi drivers when I visited Paris but I can't repeat any of them in polite company such as this comments box.
Paris DP had a whole lesson on colloquial phrases in the comments box today.

Nice looking pooch, Virginia. He certainly is a bundle of energy. He must make it difficult for his owner to keep the bike upright at times.

M'n'P ... double sigh!

Cute little doggie. It always amazes me when dogs seem so "smart" to know not to run away when it is left without a leash on.

What a cutie! I bet he makes friends everywhere; and is happy above all the sniffing and snarling down at street level.

That looks to be one happy pup!

"Louis's" friend Donald Taccone has an Amoco station in Birmingham. He's the president of The Packard Club and has some 12 Packards, most of them 1956 models.

Looks like the pup is itching to get into the action! You've caught him just right.
