The Thaw!

After almost a week of record low temps in the teens, today dawned with sunny skies and warmer weather.  I ventured out this afternoon and found the walking trail a virtual traffic jam with every Tom, Dick and Fido out for a walk and dodging assorted scooters and bikes.   Homewood Park was bustling with families enjoying this glorious day.  We have all been cured of Cabin Fever....for the moment! ( Monday night might bring some snow flurries).   I thought this was a nice example of what our Sunday afternoon was like in Birmingham!

Yes, it looks as if you had a very nice afternoon in Birmingham. And on a three-day weekend to boot!

The children at many places around the world seem to have very similar joys. (However...)

It was quite overcast and cool here yesterday so when we went out walking the dogs we were the only ones out...I'd still prefer the sun though.
It's a nice park you've got there..

Alice the high was 56F yesterday. I took my walk in a sweatshirt with no gloves or scarf!

Everyone was chomping at the bit, just like you! Nothing better than getting out and about after being forced to stay indoors.

Dl,
I would love to drag you along with me on my walk. Couldn't we solve all the world's problems and stop many times for photos! I am heading out in just a few minutes to do just that.

Eki,
I liked the light on her back and hair too!

Peter and ALice, The temp would be about 12C!!! See, I can do it.

Thanks Jill, Marley, Angela and Olivier!

Merci to my friend Bob Crowe for suggesting the tighter crop. I just tried it and it's much better I think. That's what friends are for!

Marie-Noyale,
YOur Central Park photo today was one of my all time favorites. It's worth the snow and cold to have captured that spectacular shot. French class starts tomorrow night. I might need some help! You are in my time zone or close. Peter and Alice will be fast asleep when I need help with homework!HA

How mild for this time of year.No fair. This is how parks should be. In the UK now a photographer capturing these scenes is viewed with suspicion. I believe it's a special day your way today, re Martin Luther King and a new President. Let's hope these kids realyy do have a brighter future.

Today I am 300.

B,
I fully realize that at my "age" and being a woman that photographing a park such as this is not looked upon unfavorably. The guys tell me they would never attempt this because of suspicion. How sad really but parents are fearful these days. I try never to put a photo here on my blog that shows full face. I try for profiles/ back of heads etc.
